Where is St Peter’s? The Baptist Church, St Peter’s, is in the picturesque village of St Peter’s in East Kent. The Baptist Church has met in St Peter’s for over 300 years – once in secret in a chalk pit. Nowadays, fortunately, we are more open and visible! Alongside Minster Abbey (outside Ramsgate) and St Johns (Margate), the parish church of St Peter’s was one of the first churches established when St Augustine landed to reclaim England for Christendom in 597 AD. Until the 1800s the village was the main focal point, surrounded by numerous farms with Broadstairs and its harbour on the outskirts. With the growth in the tourism, Broadstairs is now the main town of which the parish of St Peter-in-Thanet...
