Supporting the Church…financially
The Baptist Church, St Peter's, receives no central grant from the Baptist denomination-all of the money needed comes from Church members and those who attend the church. Occassionally, large-scale projects necessitate applying from grants, but in the main, the financial burden falls on those who seek to donate, give an offering or leave a bequest to the church. The Bible commands God's people to give a tithe, 10% of their first fruits for the Lord's work, and this is a pathway to a blessing to those who obey. Can I help? Yes, please-remembering your first responsibility is, of course, to look to the needs of family members. {1 Timothy 5:8-"If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."} So, if you would to help, please prayerfully consider your response. Donations may be one-off or regular and may, if you so wish, go to a specific ministry of the church you are interested in.
